Up and coming artist, Skarlett Woods released her newest album titled Letters to the West, presenting a diverse sound with meaningful lyrics.
Produced by Kevin Bowe, the artist’s sophomore album Letters to the West shows stylistic genres of Blue-Eyed Soul, Folk and Americana. Combining together to make the beautiful sound artist Woods is known for.
Skarlett Woods grew up in rural Minnesota, surrounded by a supportive, loving family that influenced her musical efforts by constantly being surrounded by rock ‘n’ roll, show tunes, pop and film scores. Over the past few years, the artist has garnered a reputation throughout Minnesota as being a fantastic performer with a unique singing and songwriting style that brings distinctive sound from the array of life experiences and places she’s lived.
Letters To The West, combines the feelings of despair and hope. A concept album of stories and philosophical ponderings from adventures out west and living in western society. The artist is speaking to the times of today while simultaneously creating a love story of what it means to be human. The album connects to its audiences with its master lyrics and well thought out verses.
Winning many different awards in the past for her unique style, she has received winning placements in “Duluth’s Dylan Fest Songwriting Contest” in 2022 and in 2023 for her songs. Along with that, Wood’s has recently been named “People’s Choice Award” at Wussow’s Songwriting Contest in 2023.
The artist has averaged nearly 200 shows within this past year along with recording and producing her newest album with Kevin Bowe.
Kevin Bowe is a writer, producer, mixer and musician from Minneapolis. He has written songs on 3 platinum records and 2 Grammy winning albums. Working out of his studio in Minneapolis, Bowe produces many artists and bands around indie rock/ pop similar to Skarlett Woods.
