JayDon Releases ‘Me My Songs & I’ Video

JayDon turned heads last week when he released his debut EP, Me My Songs & I, a collection of 10 gems that blend R&B’s past and future into something new and exciting. Over the weekend, the 18-year-old triple-threat treated his fans to the project’s newest visual, for EP highlight “Brand New.” Powered by propulsive hip-hop percussion and euphoric synths, “Brand New” finds JayDon reveling stretching his pristine tenor to its breaking point as he resolves to risk it all for a chance at love. The video demonstrates JayDon’s one-of-one dancing skills, as he commands the camera’s attention with his emotive singing and athletic moves.

Arriving after a string of buzzing singles, Me My Songs & I is a showcase for the 18-year-old triple threat’s emotive tenor and exquisite control. JayDon crafted the EP with behind-the-scenes assist from industry heavy-hitters, including songwriters Felisha King (formerly of Cherish) and Whitney Phillips, and producers like HarvBlaq TuxedoAndre Harris, and Triangle Park, and executives USHER and Antonio “L.A.” Reid. The new EP peaked at #8 on Apple Music’s R&B chart over the weekend.

The new EP is home to the viral single “Lullaby,” a collaboration with rapper Paradise, which JayDon recently performed on The Jennifer Hudson Show (co-signed by Ms. Tina Knowles). Currently one of the most-added songs on Urban Radio, “Lullaby” has connected all over the globe, especially in South Korea, where it reached the top of South Korea’s Spotify Viral 50, remaining at the top of the chart for multiple weeks, and it has made in impact in other Asian markets, including China and Taiwan. Other standout singles that find a home on the new EP include the the USHER-sampling “I’ll Be Good,” which earned praise from BillboardBETRated R&B, and more, and inspired a choreography-heavy music video (1.8 million views), and the skittering, Jersey club-inspired “Boujee Baby.”

These singles are joined by new highlights, including the guitar-flecked “Until I Deserve You,” and the luscious, nakedly vulnerable ballad “Jealous Of The Moon.” Songs like “Don’t Hate Me Now” confront the guilt and bittersweet reality of leaving a relationship that no longer feels right, while “Brand New” wrestles with the intoxicating push-and-pull of toxic love and the yearning for a fresh start. Also home to recent single “Caviar,” a devotional love song dedicated to winning back one that got away, Me My Songs & I is available on all platforms via Zoo/mega/gamma.

Though he has a skill for acting, which he demonstrates in many of his music videos and in films like The Lion King and TV shows like The Paynes, music has remained his passion. With Me My Songs & I out now, JayDon is determined to blow up and become one of his generation’s most vital artists.

JayDon performs his first-ever headlining show at The Echo in Los Angeles on October 21st. Tickets for JayDon’s L.A. show are sold out.
