Gracie’s Corner Concert Takes Brooklyn Paramount
With the blazing heat, keeping children busy this summer seems like an impossible task! To combat this, Gracie’s Corner Live: Gracie’s Global Adventure has prepared a live concert for children to enjoy at the Brooklyn Paramount on August 31st. This family-friendly event is sure to include popular and catchy songs, as well as energetic beats that force you onto the dancefloor.
Internet sensation, Gracie’s Corner, has garnered attention worldwide – successfully holding 5.64 million subscribers on YouTube with only 270 videos. Gracie’s Corner is voiced by young Graceyn Hollingsworth who has made it her mission to bring inclusivity onto our screens through nursery rhymes for children!
Her parents, Javoris and Arlene, have spearheaded “Gracie’s Corner” to embody representation in all aspects. One beautiful example of this is the popular song, “I love my hair.” In this song, Graceyn sings about embracing our natural hair. The cartoon animations include various different hairstyles, on both young black girls and boys, that are popular amongst the black community. As well as that, the music video includes kids of all ages to deliver the powerful message of the song.
“Proud of my hair cause it is my crown,” the song recites. These positive lyrics are the perfect solution to help raise young black children to be confident and proud of their culture and features. In a world that can harbor hate through racism, texturism, colorism and more, children need to see themselves on our television screens.
The popularity of “Gracie’s Corner” has also gotten attention from many celebrities. Namely, icons like Charlie Wilson and Big Freedia have been featured on the nursery rhymes. Graceyn and her parents have changed the nursery rhyme game, appealing to both children and adults.
It is clear that Gracie’s Corner Live: Gracie’s Global Adventure will be a treat for everyone to enjoy. On August 31st, the Brooklyn Paramount will be hosting two different shows for your convenience. The first show will begin at 10am and the second one at 2pm. You can get your tickets now on Ticketmaster for as low as $60! You do not want to miss the chance to witness this beautiful impact in person! Bring your children for a day of fun!
