Williams: What Was Bruno Mars Thinking?

Williams: What Was Bruno Mars Thinking?

On January 24th, Bruno Mars and Sexyy Red co-released a single “Fat, Juicy, and Wet” that has received a ton of backlash from long-time Bruno Mars fans and a good amount of young adults who have grown up listening to him.

The song is about the female anatomy and its connection to sexual relations, but explained in a vulgar and extremely explicit way where almost every other word is blocked out if you were trying to listen to the clean version.

Personally, I feel this song is just awful from start to finish and is a poor representation of Bruno Mars and the legacy he has built over the last 20 or so years in the music business.

From songs like “Talking To The Moon,” “24k Magic,” and even “Versace On The Floor,” Mars used great poetry to tell stories through his music and captured hearts as his fans related to him.

With this single, there is little-to-no poetry, nothing but vulgar language and complete and utter disrespect to women and their bodies in my opinion. I get that Bruno Mars wants to get more fans who are in the younger generation, but this just isn’t the route I would follow to do that. I’m not sure who came to who to get this collaboration going, but if it was Bruno Mars who came to Sexyy Redd with the idea, then he made a huge mistake.

I remember times where Bruno Mars was the artist I listened to when I was down and wanted a pick-me-up. Mars is one of the main artists on my “Friday” playlist as his hits “Locked Out of Heaven,” Treasure,” and “That’s What I Like,” round out some of the Mars songs on that track list.

I know I am not the only one who thinks this way:

@emehateshak

what in the Versace on the Floor is that raw unfiltered explicit mouth sir Mars ?! (k ill arch)
