In a weekend celebration that blended culture, creativity, and classic kicks, Kicks Lounge set Akron, Ohio ablaze with “Seoul, Soul, Sole”—an immersive event marking the explosive release of the Air Jordan 3 “Seoul 2.0.” More than just a sneaker drop, the night was a vibrant tribute to Korean heritage, street culture, and community.
Curated by Thomas Kim, Korean-American designer and founder of Kicks Lounge, the event transformed a reimagined warehouse space into a pulsating fusion of Seoul and Akron, honoring both his roots and hometown. Chosen as a partner by the Jordan Brand, Kim didn’t just launch a shoe; he created a movement.
“This wasn’t just a sneaker drop—it’s a movement,” Kim said. “Seoul, Soul, Sole bridges my Korean roots with the Akron community. It’s about honoring legacy, embracing culture, and showing how far style can travel when it’s built on something real.”
The night was electric with exclusive sneaker access, allowing attendees to purchase the “Seoul 2.0” before its wider release, fueling buzz among sneakerheads and collectors alike.
Event highlights included:

•Raffles and giveaways for the coveted AJ3 drop
•A 6-ft sculpture of the Air Jordan 3 “Seoul 2.0”

The guest list reflected the energy of the night, with appearances by NFL stars Jerome Baker (Cleveland Browns), Justin Layne (Pittsburgh Steelers), and Mohamed Sanu (Atlanta Falcons), as well as Disney/ABC actress Briannagh D and YouTube personality Robert Fomby.
By merging sneaker culture with storytelling, “Seoul, Soul, Sole” not only showcased a limited-edition drop, but it also elevated what it means to be both rooted and global.
