Kasai Unveils New Collection

Kasai unveiled its last collection on Monday, a line for Fall/Winter 2025/2026, which challenges societal expectations placed on women through fashion.

The line combines both masculine and feminine takes on fashion, creating a statement of duality and freedom. Romanian designer Ana Olingheru was inspired to design this both delicate and assertive collection by the constraints women typically have in clothing.

“This collection explores the reality of being a woman in a society that imposes rules on how to dress, behave and exist in the world,” Olingheru said in Kasai’s press release. “We are expected to conform, to be palatable–but women are far more layered than that.”

Many of the outfits feature sharp designs, with asymmetrical cutouts and sheer fabric incorporated as elements throughout. One look has a denim bustier top along with red gloves commanding attention, completed with a sheer skirt draped around on the floor. The sharp angles of the top and pointed shoes showcase powerful femininity.

The next look features a look inspired by veiled femininity. A sheer black fabric is draped around the model in this piece, laying over her head and flowing down to her knees. This piece has no sharp edges in it, but rather explores the delicacy of feminine fashion.

Another new piece by Kasai is a long black dress without cutouts on the side. However, eyes are drawn to the sleeves starting near the neckline and ending halfway down the forearm. The sleeves are huge, puffy and sheer, with a dark red tint and that makes the outfit look both feminine and intimidating.

All of the pieces share similar characteristics in their design. They incorporate striking elements, such as pointed heels or sharp symmetrical edges, while maintaining a soft, feminine touch with sheer fabric and smooth pieces that flow seamlessly.
