Troy Amos-Ross Unveils Gloves Off Rosé
From Olympic glory to bold bottles, Canadian Boxing Hall of Famer Troy Amos-Ross is channeling his winning spirit into the world of wine. The two-time Olympian and celebrated cruiserweight champion has officially debuted Gloves Off Rosé, a striking new vintage created in partnership with Pillitteri Estates Winery.
Crafted in Ontario’s renowned Niagara-on-the-Lake region, Gloves Off Rosé is a 2021 VQA blend of 87% Cabernet Franc and 13% Late Harvest Cabernet Franc. The result is a bright, fruit-forward wine that strikes a balance between structure and sweetness. With an ABV of 10.5% and 15g/L of residual sugar, it’s designed to be light, refreshing, and deeply expressive.
On the nose, it opens with notes of tropical fruits, ripe strawberries, and candied apple, peach, and plum. The palate offers a medley of banana, starfruit, citrus, and soft berry undertones, delivering a taste that’s been described as “a tropical sunset in the Caribbean.” It’s a wine that speaks of craftsmanship, character, and ease — the perfect match for summer gatherings, celebrations, or moments of personal triumph.
More than just a drink, Gloves Off Rosé is a narrative in a bottle. It marks Amos-Ross’s evolution from athlete to artisan, combining the discipline of professional sport with the artistry of winemaking. “Gloves Off is about taking off the armor, celebrating life, and owning every moment,” said Amos-Ross. “It’s personal, it’s bold, and it’s a reflection of everything I stand for.”
Produced by Pillitteri Estates Winery, a family-run vineyard known for its innovation and heritage, the rosé has already made waves with launch events in Toronto and the U.S., where guests were treated to tastings and behind-the-scenes stories from Troy himself.
Gloves Off Rosé is available through Pillitteri’s online store and includes New York. For local shoppers, bottles can also be found in Brooklyn at Wine Emporium (209 North 11th Street), which stocks selections from Pillitteri Estates. Guests are encouraged to call ahead to confirm availability or reserve a bottle.
