Southern Artist sosocamo Releases Debut Album ‘no service’
sosocamo is Southern rap’s most exciting new voice, blending backroad grit with starry-eyed ambition in a style he calls Big Country. Raised in rural Apex, North Carolina, down a long gravel road with more fields than phone signal, he grew up straddling two worlds: the quiet isolation of “the sticks” and the magnetic pull of something bigger. That duality lives at the heart of his bold debut album no service, the highly anticipated 13-track-offering which serves as both a homecoming and a launching pad. Built on atmospheric trap, percussive flows, and late-night melodies, the project is as much a feeling as it is a place: a reflection of life in transition, from the solitude of the South to the spotlight of a rising star. Southern rap has definitely taken over hip-hop over the past 2 decades and this will add to it.
Executive produced by frequent collaborator Grayto, with additional production via Rio Leyva (The Kid LAROI, Gucci Mane, Lil Tecca), Synthetic (Yeat, Lil Uzi Vert), Nick Mira (co-founder of Internet Money), and others, no service captures the emotional whiplash of leaving home, stepping into the unknown, and figuring it out in real time. It’s the breakout rapper’s most vivid and cohesive body of work yet – a restless, reflective ride that doesn’t just introduce an artist, but an entire world.
The album’s focus track “chronic” (watch the official music video here) turns up the volume on sosocamo’s Big Country vision, dropping him in a cinematic West Coast wasteland that feels both familiar and surreal. From dirt roads to military whips, orange paint-splashed pianos to spotlight-lit night scenes, the visual leans into high drama and rugged grit – putting the no service world in bold, widescreen focus.
In early 2025, sosocamo went viral with his breakout single “keep steady,” which has since accumulated 25M+ streams across DSPs (watch the On The Radar Performance here). The track landed him on the Spotify Viral charts in both the U.S. and Canada, signaling his arrival as a force to watch. The momentum was fueled by co-signs from major streamers like Jynxzi, Ray (of the Kai Cenat crew), Rakai, and Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain—proving that sosocamo’s reach extends far beyond the rap world.
On August 6, sosocamo makes his LA debut at Moroccan Lounge, which will be followed by his NYC debut headlining Baby’s All Right on August 9. Tickets available for sale here,
