Meovv Drop Their Debut EP “My Eyes Open Vvide”
Today, multinational K-Pop girl group MEOVV unveil their highly anticipated debut project – the 1st EP album MY EYES OPEN VVIDE, out now via THEBLACKLABEL / Capitol Records. Freely breaking down barriers between genres, moods, languages, and vocal styles, the six-track EP overseen by mega-producer TEDDY (BIGBANG, G-Dragon, 2NE1, BLACKPINK) – delivers an intimate yet expansive sound that captures MEOVV’s core duality: at times razor sharp, at others effortlessly smooth.
“DROP TOP,” the EP’s title track, arrives alongside a cinematic music video that follows the members as they discover themselves—and each other—through fate, ultimately coming together as one. The track opens with a calm, reflective mood before erupting into a dynamic, rock-tinged pop anthem that channels a rush of freedom and acceleration—perfect for summer drives with the top down. MEOVV member GAWON helped shape the song’s message, contributing lyrics that draw from her own personal journey.
MY EYES OPEN VVIDE is a sonic coming-of-age story that traces MEOVV’s journey as they open their eyes to the world, break down boundaries, and begin actualizing their dreams—as the world, in turn, opens its eyes to them. Their star power and dynamic range are on full display throughout the six-track EP, culminating in the previously unheard “LIT RIGHT NOW,” a laid-back R&B track co-written by members GAWON and NARIN. The song tells the story of boldly embracing and revealing one’s true self—unshaken by outside expectations or judgment. Serving as the closing track, it leaves a lasting impression of strength and self-assured clarity, rounding out the album with introspective poise.
The EP also includes the recently released “HANDS UP,” a resilience anthem set to a racing Brazilian funk-inspired beat – which has racked up over 20 million YouTube views and earned MEOVV their first-ever music show win on Mnet’s M Countdown, a major milestone for any rookie group. MY EYES OPEN VVIDE also includes the emotionally vulnerable pop/R&B track “TOXIC” (also co-written by members GAWON and NARIN), and “BODY,” a rowdy, dance-inducing hit that doubled as a warning to would-be haters or rivals. Rounding out MY EYES OPEN VVIDE is MEOVV’s bold debut single “MEOW,” a body-banging anthem that roared onto Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10, and the music video amassed over 10 million YouTube video views within two days of its release.
MY EYES OPEN VVIDE was written and produced by the top-tier THEBLACKLABEL crew — including label founder Teddy “TEDDY” Park, Kush, 24, Vince, IDO and Dominsuk — alongside international hitmakers like Claudia Valentina, Zikai, Billy Walsh, Jumpa, Malachiii, Tommy Brown, Theron Thomas, and more. After playing an integral role in shaping some of K-Pop’s most iconic acts over the past couple of decades, TEDDY hand-picked the members of MEOVV — his first girl group since debuting BLACKPINK in 2016 — and is directing all facets of the creative and production.
