Coachella Spotlight: Weekend One


The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, known simply as ‘Coachella’ is back to Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. For its 2025 edition, the festival will run for two consecutive weekends: between April 11-13 and April 18-20. Recognized for their consistently impressive lineups, the desert festival has become a ‘it place’ for spring breakers over the years.

The staggered, six-day festival launched in 1999 and has an average daily attendance of nearly 125,000 revelers according to EBSCO. A-list artists/bands like Lana Del Ray, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles have headlined the event in the past. Apart from musical behemoths, the festival has platformed rising stars and promoted previously famous bands and artists. 

April 11 to April 13 — The First Weekend

This time around, Coachella is no different. DJ Gabe Real will kick-off proceedings at the Coachella stage on Friday, April 11, followed by the R&B/Soul band Thee Sacred Souls. Pop singer-songwriter Marina who recently released the single “Cupid’s Girl” will perform next. Benson Boone, the TikTok sensation known for his chartbuster “Beautiful Things,” will ease the audience into the evening. Grammy-award winning rapper Missy Elliot who was recently named “#2 Best Female Rapper of All-Time” by Billboard staff will perform. Lady Gaga, who recently released her album Mayhem, will headline the night and wrap up day one with what is expected to be an electrifying show.

Concurrently, Australian band Parcels, hip-hop duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, Detroit-based group HiTech, and several others will perform at the various Coachella side-stages. 

The Arizonian rock-band Jimmy Eats World will jumpstart Saturday’s events followed by the renowned rapper T-Pain. Charli XCX, who is riding high on the worldwide popularity of her 2024 album Brat, will follow. Then, California-based Punk-rock band Green Day will headline the evening before the mercurial, energetic Travis Scott concludes the night. 

‘Horror-punk’ legends The Original Misfits, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and Mexican sensation El Malilla and more, will entertain at the side stages.

Billboard Music Award winner Shaboozey will get the business underway on April 13, Sunday. Following him, Filipino British artist Beabadoobee, and Mexico-based Junior H will perform. Finally, weekend one will conclude with performances from Megan Thee Stallion and Post Malone, who previously performed in 2018 at the festival. LA-based rapper Ty Dolla $ign, famed Dutch record producer DJ Tiësto, electronic duo Snow Strippers will headline at the side-stages.
