Coachella Headliners: Weekend Two

On Sunday, The Coachella Valley Music Festival wrapped up its 2025 expedition. Following an opening weekend filled with spectacle and drama, weekend two at Coachella mirrored the excitement. Although the weather in the Colorado desert remained relatively calm, the fracas made up for any semblance of sedateness.

Amid the star-studded Coachella frenzy, few artists/bands left a lasting impression.

Kneecap Brings Polarizing Rhetoric To Coachella

The Belfast-based hip-hop found themselves at the center of a maelstrom thanks to their overtly political messaging which sparked polarizing reactions. On social media, some praised Kneecap’s controversial actions for “using their platform for good.” Conversely, many disapproved of Kneecap, accusing them of “blatant antisemitism.” The fallout continued, as television personality Sharon Osbourne called for the band’s visa revocation.

Green Day vs. Charli XCX Continues At Coachella

Punk rock band Green Day continued their resurgence as Billie Joe Armstrong energized the audience with “altered” political lyrics. The band performed hits such as “Jesus of Suburbia” and “American Idiot.” Rapper Flavor Flav made a special appearance in a masked “drunk bunny” costume, introducing the band to a rousing response. The Charli XCX-Green Day beef persisted as drummer Tre Cool displayed a sash that read “actual headliner.” The “Brat” singer responded to Cool’s sharp swipe with a single word, “obsessed.”

The celebrated singer-songwriter known for grandiose stage designs, quirky costumes and animated performances brought high energy into weekend two. In an innovative set, Lady Gaga played chess with her former self for “Poker Face.” During the hit “Abracadabra,” the singer’s microphone briefly malfunctioned, but Gaga maintained her poise. “At least you know I sing live. I guess all we can do is our best, and I’m certainly giving you my best tonight,” she said.

After weekend one, many described Post Malone’s performance “lackluster.” Not one to be deterred by criticism, the “Circles” star brought his A-game for weekend two. Acknowledging his shortcomings, Malone said, “I apologize for being pitchy.” Wrapping up Coachella’s final act, Malone performed hits such as “Sunflower” and “Losers.” He was accompanied by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and American rapper Jelly Roll who offered a spirited exit for Malone and Coachella.
