George Michael Entertainment Announces “The Faith Tour”
George Michael Entertainment, alongside Mercury Studios and Sony Music Entertainment, have announced plans for a worldwide theatrical release of a brand-new, never-before-seen film titled George Michael: The Faith Tour.
The once lost film, shot at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg tour of George Michael’s Faith Tour in 1988, is being directed by longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin to bring forward a restored and remastered concert.
The concert film is set to be a celebration of ambition and fearless artistry at its peak during a moment when the then 24-year-old singer changed the course of his career, creating an event that invites audiences to rediscover the power and joy of George Michael.
Along with this theatrical release, George Michael Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment will release an 18-track live album titled THE FAITH TOUR, consisting of previously unreleased recordings featuring hits from Michael’s group Wham! and solo catalogues.
George Michael and his pop duo group Wham! has released numerous hits throughout the 80s & 90s including Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Everything She Wants, Last Christmas, Careless Whisper, Freedom! ‘90 and many more. Michael sadly passed away on Christmas Day of 2016 due to dilated cardiomyopathy, he was only 53 years old.
Along with his music career, Michael, who came out as gay in 1998, was an active LGBTQ rights campaigner and HIV/AIDS charity fundraiser.
The film will be released worldwide in theaters later this year with additional details, including release dates and territories, will be announced soon.
