Aaron Pierre Joins DC Studios “Man of Tomorrow”
With DC Studios announcing its upcoming streaming series Lanterns, set to debut in August of this year, one of its cast members is joining another DC related project.
Aaron Pierre, who stars as Green Lantern John Stewart in the upcoming HBO Max show, will reprise his role in Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to James Gunn’s Superman which was released in July 2025.
Before his appearance on the big screen, Lanterns is set to follow rookie Green Lantern John Stewart as he trains with fellow Lantern Hal Jordan as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Nathan Fillion, who plays another Lantern by the name of Guy Gardner, is also set to make an appearance in the show after starring as the DC hero in Superman.

The addition of Pierre adds another DC icon into the expanding roster of heroes and villains set to star in Man of Tomorrow and future DC Studios related projects.
In Man of Tomorrow, David Corenswet is set to reprise his role as Superman/Clark Kent with Nicholas Hoult reprising the role of supervillain Lex Luthor. The story follows the iconic hero-villain duo forming an unlikely alliance to face off against Brainiac who is set to be played by Lars Eidinger.
Man of Tomorrow is set to begin filming this spring in Atlanta, Georgia with James Gunn returning as director and writer. The film is planned to release on July 9, 2027.
