Gigi Goode: Fashion Designer Who Should Be on Your Radar

Gigi Goode: Fashion Designer Who Should Be on Your Radar

Most people familiar with the name Gigi Goode got to know her from Season 12 of “Rupaul’s Drag Race,” where she won four challenges and was a top three finalist of the season. But her recent work as a fashion designer could catapult her name far above the reality TV show.

Gigi Goode has always stood out as one of the fashion queens of “Drag Race” for her ability to be campy and “costumey” while still remaining fashion forward. A lot of thanks for her wonderful runway package on Season 12 can go to her mother, who she credits multiple times on the show for making her outfits and being the reason for her own sewing/designing abilities.

Goode was also involved in the runway package of Symone, her fellow member of the queer fashion and pop culture collective House of Avalon, who ended up being the winner of Season 13.

But “Drag Race” runway looks are not where Goode has peaked. Since her season, she not only has come out and blossomed as a beautiful trans woman, but she has also started her own fashion brand designing and creating custom garments. She started off strong with her first collection for SS25, “GLASSE,” a perfect name for a collection of shimmering and shining garments that flow like water.

Her second collection for FW25, “ALCHEMY,” plays with strong and sharp silhouettes that feel like they could be the wardrobe of an iconic female supervillain.

Her most recent project to receive attention were the custom garments she created for the girl group KATSEYE for their set at the Wango Tango music festival, where each member’s sand colored outfit was perfectly tailored to their style.

“Drag Race” fans and fashion fans alike will be happy to cheer on Gigi Goode while watching her career as a designer soar to new heights.
