Dior Homme SS26 Shows Fantastic Debut for Jonathan Anderson

During Paris Fashion Week, Dior showcased their SS26 menswear collection – the first collection with Jonathan Anderson as creative director – and it was a perfect start to his involvement with the brand.

Jonathan Anderson, the founder of JW Anderson, had served as the creative director of Loewe from 2013 until this year, when he stepped down to become the creative director of Dior Men. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the founders of Proenza Schouler, replaced him as creative directors of Loewe in April 2025. Their first collection with the brand is set to debut during Paris Fashion Week in October this year.

While Anderson has been well established for quite some time, there still is a lot of pressure that comes with taking over as an artistic director for one of the “big four” luxury fashion brands, and thankfully he did not disappoint with his debut collection for Dior Men. The collection has a softer color palette and an aristocratic vibe that could be described as “Dorian Gray time travels to 2025.” The collection brings in centuries-old elements of the romantic style, but still feels modern and like this is exactly what people should be wearing right now. The New York Times says Anderson “sets a new dressing agenda at Dior.” This can be seen solely by how much of a stark contrast it is from the Summer 2025 Dior men’s show from just one year ago.

Anderson’s Dior debut brings an exciting start to his journey as Dior Men’s creative director. In a little over ten years at Loewe, he completely transformed and revitalized the brand into how we know it today. While a brand as huge as Dior cant really get any stronger, it can always be shaken up in an interesting way, and Anderson as the creative director may be the way to do that.
