R.E.M. Beauty Releasing Improved “On Your Collar” Lip Glosses
Ariana Grande’s beauty brand, r.e.m. beauty, is releasing a new and improved formula of their “on your collar” plumping lip gloss, officially becoming available on their website on August 1st.
On the official r.e.m. beauty Instagram account, the brand describes the gloss as a product that “instantly plumps, deeply hydrates, and rejuvenates lips over time.” A lot of the brand’s products seem to focus on not only makeup, but as teetering on being skincare, almost every gloss advertising itself as healthy and hydrating for the lips or skin.
The improved formula of the “on your collar” plumping gloss has been released in four of their signature shades: “7 rings,” a shimmery champagne shade, “fembot, a best-selling blue iridescent shade of theirs, “chuckie,” a lavender iridescent, and “jelly sandals,” a clear iridescent shade. While r.e.m. beauty does offer their “on your collar” gloss in more neutral flat colors, beiges and nudes and pinks, this release of the new formula is clearly focusing more on their shimmery iridescents, which is what their brand seems to stand out most for.
Not only has the formula changed for the plumping gloss, but so has the packaging. While the original “on your collar” gloss was in a more stiff and cylindrical squeezable tube, the new formula is packaged in a softer tube that appears much easier to squeeze the product out of.
With r.e.m. beauty still being such a young brand, only launching about four years ago, it’s no surprise that they are still working on improving their products, and it seems that the brand truly is only growing more both in quality and popularity. For how many celebrities decide to start a beauty brand “just because they can,” it’s easy for a brand like r.e.m. beauty to get lost in the flooded market, but it has impressively already carved a place for itself in the industry with its memorable intergalactic aesthetic. What will be interesting is seeing how long they keep said aesthetic – will they always be known as the iridescent “space-ish” brand, or will they branch out from here? Do they need to branch out, or are they fine staying right in the lane they’re already in? It will be interesting to see what the future holds for r.e.m. beauty.
