Willie Jones Drops New Single “Silverado”
The bad boy of country music, Willie Jones, is back with a vengeance. Today, he releases his latest single and accompanying video, “Silverado”, a hard-hitting, genre-blending anthem that showcases his signature growly outlaw voice, hip-hop influence, and rebellious Southern swagger. With hard beats, slick strings, and a dance-floor-ready vibe, Jones once again proves that country music is whatever he wants it to be—his country, his way.
The high-energy “Silverado” music video brings the song to life with electrifying visuals, featuring Jones’ signature style, charisma, and an undeniable blend of country grit and hip-hop edge. The video was directed by Dale Resteghini, noted for his work with, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, Guns N’ Roses, and Three 6 Mafia. The video was choreographed by Richy Jackson (Lady Gaga, JoJo Siwa). Fans can watch the video now on YouTube and all major streaming platforms.
“I wanted to give the people something fun that they can ride out to” says Willie, “This song is for those days where you’re feeling yourself a little and you just want to roll down the windows and vibe.”
Talking exclusively with BET.com, Jones discussed his new sonic direction on “Silverado” and forthcoming EP. “I got some EDM type vibes, some bluesy, but they’re definitely all in the world of Willie,” Jones explains about his new project. “So, it’s definitely still cohesive, but I’m inspired by all different kinds of music. Living in Nashville, [coming] back and forth to LA from Louisiana, it’s just a gumbo.”
Following the massive success of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter last year —which featured Willie Jones on the track “Just For Fun” — the appetite for genre-fusing country music has reached new heights. With Cowboy Carter winning the GRAMMY for Best Country Album, Jones is stepping further into the spotlight as a trailblazer who has been redefining country music for years.
Discussing the impact of Cowboy Carter, with BET.com, Jones added, “The whole album from top to bottom–you can’t listen to one song without listening to the one that follows,” Jones continues. “She definitely pushed the envelope. Winning the Grammy for Album of the Year and Country Album, I think, definitely put a fire underneath everybody involved in the album, as well.”
Hailing from Louisiana, Jones blends hard rock, hip-hop, R&B, and outlaw country into a sound that is uniquely his own. Others may try to replicate it, but there is only one Willie Jones.
Discussing country music gatekeepers who aren’t enthused about the Black artist reckoning with BET.com, Jones tells them to get used to it, as his takeover is approaching. “Those who are uncomfortable, it’s like, screw ‘em. We can do everything,” Jones declares. “Especially now with how music is put out in all these different playlists and things, people’s playlists are just as diverse. I feel like it has opened up people’s ears and minds to checking out different s**t.”
His past albums, Right Now (2021) and Something To Dance To (2023), earned critical acclaim and appearances on Rolling Stone, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Mornings, NPR Music, and more. With over 200 million streams, a Beyoncé co-sign, and two stellar albums under his belt, Willie Jones is poised to dominate 2025.
This is the first release from his new project since signing with Gravel Road Records in November 2024. “Silverado” is available now on all streaming platforms, and the official video can be watched on YouTube. Willie will be releasing more new music in 2025.
