Virginskin Makes Its Nordstrom Debut
Manhattan-born luxury skincare brand Virginskin is entering a major new chapter. On September 1, the dermatologist-developed brand officially launches at Nordstrom.com, marking its largest retail expansion to date and bringing its signature Daily Glow Active Hydrator to a broader national audience.
The Nordstrom partnership feels like a natural evolution for a brand whose story began more than 50 years ago inside a Manhattan dermatology practice. Long before Virginskin became a luxury skincare name, dermatologist Dr. Albert Lefkovits developed its original formula as a soothing treatment for patients recovering from laser procedures.
But patients began noticing benefits that went beyond post-treatment comfort. With continued use, their skin appeared smoother, firmer, more hydrated, and more radiant. Word spread, and what began as a dermatological formula gradually developed a loyal following among New York patients.
Today, Dr. Lefkovits’ daughter, founder and CEO Andrea Lefkovits, is carrying that legacy forward. After personally using the original formula for more than two decades, Lefkovits transformed her family’s dermatological heritage into a modern skincare brand centered on a refreshingly simple idea: one thoughtfully formulated product can address multiple skincare needs.
The Daily Glow Active Hydrator Takes Center Stage
At the heart of Virginskin is its Daily Glow Active Hydrator, a multitasking moisturizer designed to sit somewhere between a traditional moisturizer and a treatment product.
The formula combines 4% niacinamide, an advanced peptide complex, polyglutamic acid, squalane, and a proprietary blend of Provençal botanicals. Together, the ingredients are designed to hydrate the skin, support its moisture barrier, improve the appearance of texture, and promote a more luminous complexion.
Rather than building an increasingly complicated skincare routine, Virginskin’s approach focuses on getting more from a single step. The Daily Glow Active Hydrator pairs the rich, sensorial experience expected from luxury skincare with targeted ingredients typically associated with treatment-focused formulas.
Its 4% niacinamide concentration is particularly notable, while polyglutamic acid acts as a humectant to help attract and retain moisture. The result is what the brand describes as an “active hydrator”—a product created to bridge the space between treatment and moisturizer.
From a Manhattan Dermatology Practice to Nordstrom
The Nordstrom debut follows a period of steady expansion for Virginskin. After growing from its New York dermatology roots into a direct-to-consumer business, the brand expanded to Amazon and select destinations including Canyon Ranch and Vavra.
Now, Nordstrom introduces Virginskin to an even larger luxury beauty audience.
Beginning September 1, shoppers can find the Daily Glow Active Hydrator on Nordstrom.com in two sizes: a 1.7-ounce full size for $110 and a 0.5-ounce travel size for $35.
Nordstrom will also carry an exclusive Virginskin set featuring both sizes of the Daily Glow Active Hydrator, a gua sha, and a cosmetic bag—giving customers an introduction to the brand’s hero formula while making it easier to incorporate into both everyday routines and travel.
More than five decades after the original formula was developed in Manhattan, Virginskin’s Nordstrom launch brings the brand’s story full circle in a distinctly modern way. What started as a dermatologist-created post-procedure cream has evolved into a woman-led luxury skincare brand combining family heritage, modern actives, and an increasingly sought-after approach to simplified beauty.
For consumers looking to streamline their routines without giving up performance or luxury, Virginskin’s arrival at Nordstrom may be one beauty launch worth watching this fall.
