Tommy Down Releases Live Studio Session, Do you want it all?

Tommy Down releases the live studio session video for his new single, Do you want it all?, on June 6th. Tommy Down, an up-and-coming Camden-based artist, is ready to share his sultry combination of soul, jazz and rock with the world. This single, Do you want it all?, is a sneak peek towards his highly anticipated EP which is set to be premiered later this year.

In Do you want it all?, Down incorporates trance-like vocals that prickle the skin like goosebumps from a chilly room. His voice is soft and airy yet enticing against the beat of the instruments behind him. The repetition of the title, Do you want it all?, is reminiscent of an offering from a genie out of a bottle – alluring.

“The lyrics are about maintaining your soul and morals in your pursuit to gaining all your worldly possessions and acclaim,” Down shares.

This hard-hitting message is embedded throughout the entirety of the song. Down even uses a quote from the late Bob Marley, “Live for yourself and live in vain but live for others and you will live again.” This makes it abundantly clear that, Do you want it all?, is a song that fits every occasion and caters to every age group. Everyone needs a little inspiration to get through life and Down clearly demonstrates his ability to provide with his soothing talent.

Beginning his musical career at the age of fourteen, Tommy Down garnered inspiration from his grandfather, who proudly sang for WWII troops. Within his career, he joined the jazz band, BUJO, which introduced him to European tour life and sparked the release of his own soul album. Since then, Down continues to perform across London, incorporating his UK-Ghanaian heritage with passionate storytelling through his tunes.

Down’s musical ability has amassed plenty of well-deserved accolades. In 2024, Down’s single, Mrs. Blue, from his 21st Century Living album has attracted over 5.7 million streams on Spotify. While Mrs. Blue is a solid piece, Down has raised the bar with his new single, Do you want it all?

The live studio session featuring Aarron Dolby playing the bass, Tom Wardle playing the guitar and Jack Purbrick playing the drums highlights Down’s passion for his music. The melody is hauntingly beautiful and immerses listeners with every strum and note. Rating, Do you want it all?, as anything less than a 10/10 would be a huge injustice to the impact of this piece. Be sure to keep up with Tommy Down on all platforms so you never miss any releases.
