Shakey Graves Releases New Single In Anticipation for His Upcoming Album

Austin-based singer-songwriter Shakey Graves has announced his upcoming fifth studio album Fondness, Etc., set for a May 15 release.

Along with his announcement, Graves released a new single titled “Time Flies”, a cover of Frankie Sunswept’s wistful love song.

“I first heard [Frankie Suswept] play “Time Flies” in like 2007 at the Sidewalk Cafe in Alphabet City,” Graves states. “I knew it was going to be a perfect fit for this project and finally made a version of it the way it would play on the radio in my head,” he continued.

Emerging from Austin’s DIY scene as a one-man band, Graves garnered a following through releases such as “Roll the Bones” along with relentless tours and fan-first experiences.

For his upcoming album, Graves reflects on the quiet grief and gratitude that comes with growing up with nine lived-in songs with a folk-leaning intimacy. The album, produced by Graves, was captured on a pair of tascam tape machines in a one-month stretch in his home studio.

Along with this announcement and new single release Graves announced a U.S. tour, set to kick off on June 4 in Tulsa, OK, in support of his Fondness, Etc.album. Tickets are currently on sale now here.
