Serge Devant Launches New Label & Single “Solace”

decade after captivating audiences worldwide with his emotional club anthem “Fearing Love” with Camille Safiya, the iconic music producer Serge Devant returns with “Solace,” the sequel and the first release on his brand-new label imprint – This Moment. A deeply personal and cinematic continuation, “Solace” is the next, 2nd chapter in a trilogy of sound, picture, and story, blending dynamic, progressive house rhythms with a stirring narrative that began 10 years ago. Bridging past and present, “Solace” reunites Devant with soulful vocalist Camille Safiya, whose haunting delivery once again anchors the emotional gravity of the project, with the music video featuring the exact same actors who starred in “Fearing Love” 10 years ago – a maneuver that was never done in the music industry before. By entering uncharted territories, Serge Devant is clearly making history with “Solace” and creating a new path for other artists to follow. With its hypnotic grooves, understated melancholy, and club-rooted pulse, the track speaks to the quiet resilience of love. Between two now-strangers, there is a flicker of connection that refuses to die–even after time, distance, and memory loss. Visually, “Solace” pushes the boundaries of electronic music storytelling. Shot by Tobias Deml, director of photography for Luc Besson, and starring actor Eric Michael Cole (“White Squall,” “Gia”) and Christine Donlon (“Entourage,” “Escape Room“), the new music video picks up where the award-winning short film for “Fearing Love”” left off. In a world where memories can be erased, “Solace” imagines what happens when two former lovers cross paths again. Now living mundane lives far removed from the hedonism of their clubbing youth, they collide with a group of after-hours revelers in a surreal subway moment where past and present collide under unexpected circumstances that leave the viewer wondering what will transpire next. Rounding out “Solace” is a tech-progressive-house, late-night remix from none other than Seth Troxler and Nick Morgan, whose take offers a deeper rendition that honors the original’s cinematic core while channeling pure dancefloor energy. With a story that spans a decade, a sound that remains timeless, and a vision that merges music and film, Serge Devant proves that some connections, like great art, are impossible to forget, proving he’s a true pioneer.

“This has been in motion for a while now. I’ve been quietly building something – a platform, a label, a brand. Not to chase a trend but to give music the space it deserves. This isn’t a label for hype. It’s a label for time, for quality, for storytelling – through music and film. It’s called ‘This Moment.

The first release is a record called ‘Solace’ with Camille Safiya, a continuation of a story that began over a decade ago with our single ‘Fearing Love.’ When we shot the video for ‘Fearing Love,’ it won a film festival – but more importantly, it lit something up in me. I realized how much I loved being involved in the full creative process: casting actors, choosing locations, working with the crew, and shaping the edit. It created a real connection between the music and the visual – a way to stay true to the soul of the track beyond just the sound.

I grew up on MTV and VH1, watching music videos that had weight and substance. These days that feels like a lost art. Building a world around music visually isn’t as common in the industry anymore – and wanting to change that. To bring that experience back in a way that felt real and intentional. With ‘Solace,’ I wanted to continue the story. I reached out to the same actors from ‘Fearing Love’ – ten years later – and they were all in. That was the sign to keep going. We brought back the same crew, and by that time, my Director of Photography – Tobias Deml, had become an established filmmaker – directing an HBO documentary and shooting Luc Besson‘s latest film (‘The Fifth Element,’ ‘The Professional’). With this dream team, I knew we could create something special.

I’m excited to finally share it with you – not just the music but the full video trilogy that brings this story to life. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.”
