Role Model Releases Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye)
American singer-songwriter, Role Model, released a deluxe version of his newest album Kansas Anymore.
Kansas Anymore was originally released on July 24, 2024. The album comprised of 13 songs that took its listeners on a journey through love, loss, mistakes, and homesickness. Role Model’s music conveys the beauty of life through the understanding that while nobody is perfect, there are many things worth fighting and living for.
Kansas Anymore features authentic storytelling and soft guitar strumming to make you feel right at home as you listen. This album feels like reading the journal of a man getting to know himself after a break-up with someone he truly loved.
His song “Frances” is strategically titled after the middle name of his famous ex-girlfriend. Role Model includes lyrics that reflect his deep respect for her such as, “Frances, she was amazing” and “At the end of the day I’m just happy I could say she was mine.”
The singer continues this ode to her in his song “Look At That Woman” where he admires the small things about her and how she is so beautifully breaking his heart. He wrote, “She was mine, got cold. Now the guilt’s the only thing I hold” and “Lost my faith and my mind on the day we had to say goodbye.” This track has an easy-going melody that made it the perfect summer track for the hopeless romantics.
Throughout this album, Role Model makes friends with his flaws and acknowledges his gratefulness for the people who love him. He balances the heaviness of the lyrics with upbeat silly tunes that make this album so enjoyable.
New Tracks
The four new tracks are “Old Recliners”, “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out”, “Some Protector”, and “The Longest Goodbye”. This extension of the Kansas Anymore album continues the same Western aesthetic, romantic storytelling, and intimate guitar melodies that listeners fell in love with last summer.
Role Model is currently halfway through his “No Place Like Tour” tour. For more information and tickets you can visit his official website.
