R&B Singer B. Howard Shares Video for “Beautiful Nightmare”
Founded by Charles “Chilly” Patton and Lupe Fiasco, 1st & 15th places a huge emphasis on elevating rising talent from its home town of Chicago. Today, B. Howard, a smooth-voiced R&B singer and son of 80’s R&B icon, Miki Howard, shares the new video for “Beautiful Nightmare,” a highlight from Chill’s Spotlight, Vol. 8. Produced by SoNik The Producer and Decapo, “Beautiful Nightmare” brings a deep groove, with behind-the-beat bass and lush vocal harmonies adorning B. Howard’s delicate tenor. The singer dips in and out of falsetto as he narrates his experience navigating a tumultuous, but passionate relationship. Permeated with a sense of danger, the video brings that relationship to life, as B. Howard attempts to process his strong feelings of lust for his femme fatale.
Released in November 2025, Chill’s Spotlight, Vol. 8 showcases some of 1st & 15th’s outstanding R&B talent, featuring songs by B. Howard, Troy Tyler, who collaborated with Lupe on several songs on his recent Samurai DX, and babyfaced future hitmaker Frayne Vibez. Featuring production from Soundtrakk on multiple songs, the 5-track Chill’s Spotlight, Vol. 8 is available on all platforms via 1st & 15th / Thirty Tigers.
In 2025, 1st & 15th released The Life of Pedro, a new album by Miami artist Billy Blue, and made noise with the release of Samurai DX, the deluxe edition of Lupe Fiasco’s critically acclaimed 2024 album Samurai. The new expansion features two songs from the Samurai sessions, the self-produced recent single “SOS” and the Soundtrakk-helmed “High Note,” plus remixes of original album highlights “Samurai,” “Palaces,” and “Bigfoot.” Featuring vocals by Troy Tyler, the new remixes add a fresh perspective to Lupe’s rhymes, changing up the style without sacrificing the soul. The record’s second half, and the vinyl version’s Side B, includes instrumental versions of the DX‘s five vocal tracks.
