Obed Padilla Debuts New EP ‘Do You Still Love Me?’
Do You Still Love Me?, the highly anticipated EP from emerging vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Obed Padilla, is out today via Julian Bunetta’s Big Family.

“Do You Still Love Me? was such a bittersweet thing to make,” says Obed. “I was going through a difficult breakup among so many other changes in my life, yet I was also writing and working on my favorite music to date with my friends––Afterhrs, Mikky Ekko, Niko Rubio, Julian and more. ‘Do you still love me?’ is a question to my last lover, my friends, my family and God.”
Ahead of the EP, Obed shared the single “50K” featuring fellow Californian and rising star Niko Rubio, as well as “Do You Still Love Me?.” Starring prominent professional wrestler Jessica “J-Rod” Roden, the title track’s music video was recently nominated for a Hollywood Music Video Award––watch it HERE.
Obed has spent years honing his sound through experimenting with genre, collaborating with legendary artists––playing both electric and acoustic guitar on the Kacey Musgraves and Carín León duet “Lost In Translation,” per the personal request of Bunetta––and performing to audiences all over the country. He made his festival debut at Austin City Limitsin 2024, followed by performances across the Southwest this summer and at San Diego’s Mission Bayfest last weekend.
Watching his pastor father “plant churches” throughout his childhood, worship was the catalyst to Obed’s deep love of music. In his early twenties, he fell into making music through a Craigslist ad. A gig playing guitar in the band for a Christian summer camp led to producing locally in hometown of Oceanside, garnering viral attention for his captivating storytelling in his songs “Brown & Down Freestyle” and “Chicano Poetry.” After stumbling upon viral success, he found himself in the studio with Mikky Ekko and Afterhrs and eventually signed to Big Family.
On Do You Still Love Me?, Obed grapples with change. The project documents Obed’s evolution over the past few years as he reflects on his world expanding beyond his beloved pocket of Southern California, finding new depths to the storytelling he’s known for. Now residing between Oceanside and Los Angeles, Obed’s EP bridges his new life with his deep roots at home, cementing himself as an innovator in Latin Alternative space. More from Obed is imminent.
