“Save Me” arrives soon after debut major single “Oh Brother” which spotlighted the O’Block’s rapper’s flow dexterity, melodic instinct, and songwriting craft that have made him a proper successor to local acts like G Herbo, King Von and others carrying the Chicago tradition.

More About Munna Ikee:

Extracted from the cloth of trench trauma and the pool of Chicago genius, Munna Ikee is the face of O’Block’s new generation. Since unloading his first songs in 2022, the 21-year-old has carried on his neighborhood’s tradition with a blend of pained melodies and ghetto vignettes for soldier songs that are as infectious as they are spiritual. He continues that tradition with “Oh Brother,” a stirring single from his forthcoming album, Hope In My Hood Vol 1. “The music speaks for itself,” Ikee says. “I give hope to my city.” He began using music to do so when he recorded his first songs at the end of the pandemic. Melodic and emotionally transparent, Ikee quickly proved his penchant for poignant storytelling. After building buzz with tracks like “V. Roy Did” and “Until We Meet Again,” he earned a record deal with Interscope. In the face of King Von’s tragic death and Lil Durk’s current incarceration, Ikee plans to carry the torch of O’Block legends before him. “Everybody made their mark, now I gotta make my mark,” he shares. “I gotta keep it going. I gotta finish the race.” That mission — that purpose — will involve more trips to the studio. More victories. More pitch black nights. But even in the shadow of tragedy, Ikee will stand as a glowing emblem of the future. “I’m trying to just let people know we’re still here,” he says. “There’s still hope here.”
