MEOVV Goes Back-To-Back With Singles
Succeeding their recent debut, MEOVV releases two singles back-to-back, ‘BODY’ and ‘TOXIC’. Even better is that they are each paired with their own music video. The two singles purr-fectly exemplify the different sides of the group’s musicality.
MEOVV Hisses Back
‘TOXIC’ is one of the two songs that MEOVV just released. This track is softer and more emotional, with a minimal rhythmic drum machine beat in the background. The track was co-written by the group’s own members, GAWON and NARIN, and honors what feels like a more personal touch. The lyrics are gentle and honest, and describe the turmoil of an uncertain relationship. The member’s voices deliver them with smooth vocals in different tones. The feeling that cultivates through all these elements immerses the listener in the experience of the song. The music video encapsulates the girls’ coming-of-age moments. The diverse visual landscapes add dimension and depth to further immerse fans in the song’s experience. They want each track to feel like an experience.
‘BODY’ is the second track. however a very different vibe than ‘TOXIC’. It’s a harder, punchy tune with a hip-hop element. The bouncy beat gives you the confidence to dance. It’s apparent from the live performance of the song that it makes MEOVV want to dance. They have an entire coordinated hip-hop routine to match the swagger of the track. The song has an empowering, uplifting energy that launches MEOVV further in establishing their presence in the scene. They show they are a force to be reckoned with. but their range is important.
It seems with the new singles that MEOVV demonstrates the diversity in their creations. Although they are THEBLACKLABEL’s first female K-pop group, they want to show fans that they are on the prowl and here to compete. Proving they have a roaring chance to be one of the biggest female K-pop groups.
