Mark Ambor Debuts New Song “Closer To Me”
Breakout artist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Ambor returns with a new song, “Closer To Me,” out today via Capitol Records
“I wrote ‘Closer To Me’ in a hotel room in London during the Rockwood tour,” Ambor says. “At the time, I initially wrote it about someone I was seeing, but when that ended, the song took on a new meaning for me. It became a song that reminded me of the past two years and the appreciation and love I have for every single person who’s shown support for anything I’ve ever put out. It’s been nothing short of a dream to get to meet, learn, celebrate and ultimately become closer to each and every one of them.”
The track comes on the heels of a completely sold-out European tour, while Ambor’s North American headline tour earlier this year instantly sold-out, with 50,000 tickets sold. He also performed a run of global marquee festival sets—Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Governors Ball, among others. He recently attended the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where his song “Belong Together” was nominated for MTV Push Performance of the Year.
“Closer To Me” ushers in a new era for Ambor, as he gears up for a massive 2026 with more music imminent. Earlier this year, he shared “Who Knows,” featuring production by himself, Ian Fitchuk (Beyoncé, Maggie Rogers), Ammo (Teddy Swims, Kesha) and longtime collaborator Noel Zancanella (Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys).
Ambor continues to grow after a landmark 2024, which saw the release of his debut album Rockwood. His breakout single “Belong Together” is world-wide hit, with 25x platinum certifications globally, over 1 billion global streams to date and cracking the Billboard Hot 100. He performed the track for his national television debuts on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and TODAY.
