Joyce Santana Releases Album “Nada Personal”
Composer and lyrical sweeper Joyce Santana releases his long-awaited studio album, Nada Personal, and is instantly positioned as one of the must-haves of the year.
Hailing from the birthplace of reggaeton, Carolina, Puerto Rico, Joyce has the unique distinction of having been present in a time of great change and growth in the local Latin urban scene. He established himself as part of the LA CIUDVD collective alongside artists such as Álvaro Díaz, Brray, Young Martino and others who were essential in changing the sound of the genre in ways that are still felt today.
Two years after the release of his second LP, Después Siempre Es Tarde, he returns to the scene stronger than ever. Nada Personal includes collaborations with megastars such as Feid, Yandel, Tainy, De La Rose and his compatriots Díaz and Brray, proving that their bond is still strong.
The promotional cut, “Crisis” with Yandel, is a flirtatious reggaeton with melancholic notes that fuses the vocal sensitivity of the legend of the genre with the stark dexterity of Joyce. The accompanying music video showcases their innate chemistry, as the duo swap verses over a catchy, hip-rattling beat.
Nada Personal is a project that has been years in the making and that presents Joyce at the peak of her talent. With more focus than ever, he presents some of the best songs of his career, from the impressive opening songs “El Gigante de Carolina” and “Tu Ciudvd”, to songs like “Rehab” and “Superman”, which demonstrate him by exploring new sounds and expanding his reach. Considered a rapper of rappers, Joyce also shares scathing stories of everyday life as only someone with his fiery pen can, especially on the captivating “No Se Ve el Corazón.”
With 17 tracks, Nada Personal proves that Joyce Santana is one of the most versatile, conscious and talented artists on the music scene today. Past hits like “Besties” alongside Young Miko, YOVNGCHIMI, Villano Antillano , and Luar La L catapulted him to fame significantly, and now he’s ready to plant a flag in the industry and cement his name as an artist who’s here to stay, with the attitude and talent needed to stay on top.
