Jeezy Announces TM:101 Live
Twenty years ago, a young hustler living in Atlanta walked into a Def Jam studio and changed the trajectory of hip-hop forever. Now, Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins is doing it again—this time with strings attached.
On July 26, the actual 20th anniversary of his debut album, Jeezy drops TM:101 Live, a complete symphonic reimagining of his genre-defining debut Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. This isn’t just another anniversary reissue. This is trap music meeting Carnegie Hall, street symphonies elevated to cinematic art.
Working alongside GRAMMY and EMMY Award winner Adam Blackstone and renowned composer Derrick Hodge with the Color of Noize Orchestra, Jeezy has transformed classics like “Soul Survivor,” “Go Crazy,” “My Hood,” and “Trap or Die” into sweeping orchestral arrangements that honor their raw origins while expanding their emotional range.
“20 years in the game, it’s more than music—it’s purpose. And that is and always has been to inspire and elevate the culture!” Jeezy reflects. “Thank you to those who never stop believing!”
The album arrives as both a limited edition orange vinyl pressing—just 300 copies available through #FatBeats, a limited edition purple vinyl pressing available at Urban Outfitters and across all streaming platforms. It’s a cultural artifact that captures the exact moment when trap music transcended its boundaries, proving that the stories born in the streets deserve orchestral treatment.
This reimagining accompanies Jeezy’s TM:101 Live tour, a black-tie symphonic experience that has been moving audiences from Miami to Detroit. Most dates have sold out, testament to the hunger for real hip-hop presented with the reverence it’s always deserved.
“20 years of victories, struggles, and growth—every setback was worth it,” Jeezy says. “If I could talk to my younger self in ’05, I’d say: ‘They might hear you in ’05, but in 2025, they gon’ feel you!’ You’re doing God’s work! Keep going!”
The original Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Rap and R&B charts, No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and went double platinum. It featured the triple-platinum hit “Soul Survivor” with Akon and “Go Crazy” with JAY-Z. But numbers only tell part of the story. This album became the soundtrack to a generation’s ambition, the musical embodiment of turning pain into purpose.
