HAIM And Stevie Nicks Tease New Collaboration

Often referred to as “music’s greatest sister act,” American rock band HAIM is hot off the heels of their newest album release. Formed more than a decade ago by sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim, the band characterizes itself as a blend of soft-rock and pop-rock elements and their newest album, “I Quit”, presents as much of the same. “I Quit”, which reframes the typically heartbreaking experience of a break-up as something celebratory and a harbinger of growth, was released on June 20th to positive critical reviews. Avid fans of the band lauded the bold lyricism and sound that the band itself is known for.

Despite having just released an entire album, however, the band itself seems to be making no obvious moves to slow down. Recently, they opened up about the process of writing for the album itself on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, stating that the original singles for the album were written long before the album actually came out. This seems to be a consistent pattern for HAIM, as in the very same interview, they cryptically teased a new song and collaboration with Stevie Nicks.

Fans of the band will know that they have spent time in the studio with musical legend Stevie Nicks— but when asked about their time together, the sisters were tight-lipped. “It’s not [on the album]… it’s for something,” Alana Haim answered, mysteriously. While they acknowledged and playfully apologized for how cryptic they were being, the sisters maintained the air of mystique surrounding the new collaboration. This is far from the first Haim-Nicks interaction— the four have performed together in the past and Haim specifically has expressed their love for Nicks time and time again. This collaboration, then, is nowhere near a surprise for listeners of either artist— but it seems like, for now, all they can do is wait for more news about it.
