Elliot James Reay Releases “Uchained Melody (Live)”
23-year-old singer, guitarist, and songwriter Elliot James Reay releases “Unchained Melody (Live),” a cover of the 1955 original by Alex North and Hy Zaret that went on to be one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century including chart topping versions by the Righteous Brother and Elvis Presley. A fan favorite from his live shows, Elliott recorded “Unchained Melody (Live)” during his Tampa tour stop opening for Benson Boone this fall. Elliot’s live cover of “Unchained Melody” captures his signature retro-pop sound with a modern twist creating a heartfelt rendition that resonates with audiences of all ages. “Unchained Melody (Live)” is available now via Interscope/ Island EMI.
The release of “Unchained Melody (Live)” follows the June release of Elliot’s debut EP, All This to Say I Love You. The swoon-worthy set leans into the UK artist’s loving embrace of ’50s and ’60s music, infusing his classic rock ’n’ roll with cinematic grandeur, modern flourishes, and a playful self-awareness. With six songs that capture the irrepressible thrill and longing of young love, the EP includes his sensational debut single “I Think They Call This Love.” “I Think They Call This Love” has amassed over 183 million global streams, earned over 1 billion views across 160,000+ TikTok creates, climbed Spotify Viral Charts in over 27 countries, and helped Reay build a loyal fanbase of more than 5 million followers. The song also marked the arrival of a fascinating new talent who, influenced from an early age by artists like Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley, brings new life to that pioneering era of pop culture.
Last week Elliot reunited with Benson Boone to kick off the European leg of Benson’s American Heart World Tour in Ireland. The tour continues through November 11th and includes two nights at the O2 in London. A complete list of tour dates can be found here.
