Brandon Wisham Releases Single “Whiskey’s Whisperin'”
Buzzing singer/songwriter Brandon Wisham returns with his bittersweet new single “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” — a timeless country drinking song with a distinctly modern twist.
Arriving on the heels of his blazing country-rock banger “She’s Good,” “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” further reveals the depth and scope of Wisham’s one-of-a-kind musicality.
“‘Whiskey’s Whisperin’’ is unlike anything we’ve done thus far — but crazy enough, it feels like it heads in a direction that shows more of the authentic me!” says the South Carolina-bred musician. “Mixing a little bit of Bieber with some Luke Combs to bring the R&B (Rhythm & Boots) to my music. Ultimately the song’s a vibe!”
Produced by Nate Miles (a Nashville-based producer/songwriter whose credits range from Bailey Zimmerman to alt-pop trio Nightly), “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” shows a whole new side of the tremendous vocal talents and top-notch songcraft that recently earned Wisham recognition as one of SiriusXM The Highway’s Highway Find. To that end, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” finds his voice taking on a sweetly soulful tone as the track unfolds in breezy grooves and high-powered guitar work.
Co-written by Wisham, Miles, Andrew Stoelzing, and Zachary Knowles, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” tells the all-too-familiar tale of a post-breakup bender (from the first verse: “I should head on home/Call it a night/’Cause every round goin’ down/Is another round of you”). In a clever contrast to its heavy-hearted confession, the song’s chorus embodies a knowing humor as Wisham discovers whiskey’s power to bend the truth to his benefit: “Tequila’s tellin’ me we’re through/Beers been beggin’ me to/Move on with someone new…When the whiskey’s whisperin’/You miss me too.” The result: an instant barroom classic and a bold new step for one of country’s most exciting new artists.
The fifth song released from Wisham, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” is the latest triumph in a growing catalog that also includes his Southern rock-fueled debut “Back Together,” the hard-driving “Better Than The Day” (his first feature on SiriusXM’s The Highway), and his introspective coming-of-age anthem “Growin’ Up.” At just 22-years-old, Wisham has also made his name as an unstoppable live performer, thanks in part to his exhilarating CMA Fest debut in June. Fresh off a run of dates with Tyler Hubbard, he’s now getting set to hit the road with Austin Snell. Later this fall, he’ll also join Lakeview and then Nate Smith on select dates nationwide.
