bodie Releases Debut Album “NO SKIPS”
Rising alt-pop singer songwriter bodie — known for his genre-blurring sound and breakthrough run on The Voice Season 22 — today releases his much-anticipated debut album, “NO SKIPS,” via Provident Entertainment/Sony.
The album release marks the culmination of a slew of new bodie music released this summer, including the album’s feel-good title track, “GOOD OLD DAYS” and “SAY SO” in addition to its accompanying music video, inspired by MTV’s legendary Jackass-era antics. bodie’s radio single, “whisper and the wind,” from the HAPPY TO BE HERE EP (Provident Entertainment/SONY) ascended to the Top 10 on both the Billboard Airplay and the Mediabase Audience charts and amassed over 23 million global streams to date.
With the album now in the world, fans are at last fully immersed in the mind of a truly remarkable, multi-dimensional artist. Additionally, it marks the first time listeners are able to hear “SETTLE,” one of the new album’s most momentous and anthemic hit singles. “I won’t settle/cause I know better/I’m already so obsessed/can’t go back to second best/cause I know better/I won’t settle,” bodie sings with full-throttle emotion. bodie marked his album release this week with an unforgettable hometown celebration, drawing nearly 1,000 fans to Vanguard University—where he serves as Director of Worship and adjunct music faculty—for a high-energy set performed from three U-Haul trucks transformed into an outdoor stage.
Having recently wrapped his highly-successful, national headline Murder My Ego Tour, bodie is headed back out on tour this fall. The multi-talented musician is first joining Elevation Rhythm for seven dates on their Goodbye Yesterday Tour, beginning on September 6 in Houston, before joining Seph Schlueter on the singer’s Counting My Blessing Tour, which kicks off on September 18 in Savannah, Georgia. See HERE and below for the full list of bodie tour dates.
bodie was also nominated for 2 Dove Awards including Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, and Short Form Music Video of the Year (Concept) for “RIP.” Additionally, bodie was nominated at the Klove awards for his ‘breakout single’ for “whisper and the wind,” and also won the grand prize in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition (ISC) along with his songwriting team – Sajan Nauriyal, and Wes Strunk – for the co-written “whisper and the wind.” Judges included Paul Stanley (KISS), Joe Hahn (Linkin Park), Elle King, Tom Waits, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Nancy Wilson (Heart), NEEDTOBREATHE, and more. The winning composition captivated ISC’s esteemed panel of judges with its compelling lyricism and emotional resonance – rising above the 14,000 submissions from 112 countries. The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is widely recognized as the world’s most prestigious songwriting competition.
