A Look Into The Met Gala 2025 And The Best Dressed

Monday May 5th marked another year of iconic fashion and innovation with the Met Gala 2025. Since the theme was released months ago, anticipation for celebrity looks has been building and building as everyone was anxiously awaiting to see how the theme would be interpreted. This year’s theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and the dress code was “Tailored For You”, a tribute to the beauty of detail and the cultural significance of black dandyism. With co-chairs being Colman Domigo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams it was sure to be another beautifully star-studded night and it definitely did not disappoint. From incredible silhouettes to iconic tributes and even a pregnancy announcement from Rihanna, here is a look into the Met Gala 2025 and some of the best looks.
What makes tuning into the Met Gala so much fun every year is the fact that every celebrity interprets the theme differently so there is sure to be an incredible variety of looks. When looking at this year’s best dressed one could go on and on as it seems several celebrities showed up and showed out in their Monday best. Some looks that really stood out though include, Janelle Monáe, Teyana Taylor, Colman Domigo and Laura Harrier. Monáe styled by Paul Tazewell, wore Thom Browne. The look was inspired by the idea of a “time traveling dandy” and wore two looks on the carpet, one being and overcoat and one being a suit. Playing with shapes and colors, her looks used red white and black stripes to create what one would consider an optical illusion. The details of the look were incredible as Monáe sported a monocle, bowler hat and handbag. Teyana Taylor looked fabulous in Ruth E. Carter and David Yurman. Wearing a red three piece suit, Taylor was the epitome of dandyism. She also sported a matching cape that had the phrase “Harlem Rose” embroidered on it to further elevate the details of the look. Domigo also wore two looks by Valentino on the carpet starting with a blue cape with gold detailing and then moving into a suit. The suit played beautifully with patterns and texture and was embellished with a black and white flower. Laura Harrier stunned in a white and ivory suit that played with silhouettes as the sleeves and legs were bigger than the typical suit tailoring. Designed by Zac Posen, Harrier looked like a whimsical step back in time.
