Twins For Peace X My Good: Footwear to Support Victims of Police Brutality
By: Caitlyn Garrity / April 26, 2021
Just last week, another instance of police brutality occurred in America with the shooting of 20-year-old, Daunte Wright. In lieu of police brutality, French footwear brand Twins for Peace has partnered up with My Good to create their shoe collection, Soles To Souls, that supports the families of victims of police brutality.
About Twins For Peace
Twins For Peace is a French footwear brand that aims to promote social issues through shoe design. It was founded in Paris in 2009 by the twins Maxime and Alexandre Mussard and their best friend, Louis-Félix de Fenoyl.
Each shoe is crafted in Brazil and has its elephant logo inside the sole with the slogan, “Be Cool Be Good.” Using a color palette of red, white and blue, each shoe represents both America and France.
Soles To Souls: The Collection
Founder of My Good, American R&B and soul singer-songwriter and Grammy award-winner Macy Gray, teamed up with Twins For Peace to create a collection of limited-edition sneakers. My Good is a non-profit foundation founded in 2020 to support families that experience a loss due to police brutality. The foundation aims to give families emotional, educational, and financial support during an extremely difficult time in their lives.
The collection was a no-brainer for Gray as the values of Twins for Peace align perfectly with My Good.
“This collaboration is an effort that will benefit families in need, as well as draw attention to the incredible work Twins for Peace does worldwide. While on the road and even during this past year where comfort is key, sneakers have been a staple in my wardrobe and it was an honor to be able to help design this collection that is not only fashion-forward, but gives back in such a humanitarian way. – Macy Gray
MG Slip-On Shoe in both black and white, and red, navy, and white with gold foil details. ($250 USD)
Each shoe tells a story and carries with it the care and affection of those who built it. When you support the collab ‘TFP + MyGood: From Soles to Souls,’ you are also part of this virtuous cycle of humanitarian values and sustainability that certainly helps people in need. –Max Mussard founder and designer of Twins For Peace
