CAAFD veteran, Samantha Leibowitz unveiled her Ss/18’ collection during NYFW on September 10, 2017 at Pier 59. The Sponsored event will house multiple designers like  Samantha, giving them a platform to showcase their designs. Samantha who is not a newbie to New York Fashion week has created a collection that is bold, and adventurous! Her inspiration comes from art. The idea was to create a collection that could easily transcend from evening to day wear. Models stormed down the runway with clean and simple makeup and a bold silver lip. The Hair trend for this particular show was a messy bun.

Below I have chosen my top (3) looks from her collection.

Look (1) A simple black dress with a clean silhouette. Every woman needs “THE BLACK DRESS” that they can dress up or down depending on the time of day, but this is not the normal black dress. It has drawstrings on the side to give the garment a scrunched detailing. Next is one of my favorite pieces from the collection because it screams tomboy, but it’s very feminine as well. Look (2) The silver sheer-sequin halter top and matching pants. It flows perfectly with movement. This set can easily be transformed from day to evening with the right accessories. For an evening look you can throw on a black “boyfriend” blazer with a belt to finish the look, or keep the jacket open and reveal some skin. A nude lip, and a classic black stiletto for the win! Look (3) I adore this look because of the high slits on each leg leaving less to the imagination in a tasteful way. The top is embellished with a floral pattern that is beyond perfect for spring. This look will have anyone do a double take. This day wouldn’t be possible without the help from the CAAFD- The Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers, [CAAFD] is a non-profit organization founded through a collaborative effort by a few key pioneers in the fashion industry with the ambitious goal of promoting designers who aspire to expand their brand awareness and do business in the United States.
