Why You Should Visit The DMV
Today I want to tell you why you should take a trip to the DMV. No, not the Department of Motor Vehicles, I would never send anyone on a trip there. I’m talking about the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia metropolitan area, which the cool kids refer to as The DMV. You might not think it at first, but this part of the country has a lot of travel potential if you’re thinking of making a trip to the mid-Atlantic area. Here are a few reasons why it might be worth a visit.
The DMV contains all of Washington D.C. and its suburbs as well as Baltimore, depending on who you ask. DC is of course an amazing destination for all things historical and informative, as it has some of the countries best museums and exhibits. Some highlights include the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Air and Space Museum, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture, depending on what you’re interested in. You should also be sure to at least stop by and take some photos at the White House, Capitol Building, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial, all of which you can find along the Mall.
Once you have gotten your fill of our nation’s capital, head over to Baltimore which is just a short drive away. For the animal lovers out there, you can make a stop at the National Zoo which offers free admission and is home to incredibly rare giant pandas. Once you make it to B-more, I would recommend taking a walk around Inner Harbor and maybe spending the afternoon at the truly special National Aquarium. Then if you have a free night and the Orioles are in town, I would highly recommend catching a game at Camden Yards, one of the best stadiums in the MLB. I can’t guarantee that the O’s will play well, but you are sure to have a good time!
