LA: The City That Has It All

Los Angeles needs almost no introduction, being one of the most famous cities in the world. And for good reason; it has world-class entertainment, food, music, art, and just about anything else you can think of. So should LA be on your list of travel destinations? Let’s find out!

LA

The Pacific coast

If you come from the East coast like me, the first thing you notice once you get to the City of Angels is the weather. LA has basically perfect weather year-round, as well as incredible access to mountains, canyons, and beaches. There aren’t many places that get better than this for those of you enthusiastic about outdoor activities. You can go for a hike in any of the countless beautiful parks nestled in the Hollywood hills, have a beach day and explore the characters at Venice Beach, and go surfing in Malibu like you’re in a Beach Boys song. Once you work up an appetite, try some Korean barbecue in Koreatown or grab some Mexican food at one of the taco trucks that dot the streets here. These might just be the best tacos you’ve ever had and you can be sure it’s authentic; being so close to Mexico itself, LA has a thriving Hispanic population.

The iconic LA grid lights up at night from Griffith Observatory

All of these activities and cuisines are certainly incredible, but my strongest recommendation would have to be that you visit the Griffith Observatory. It is an icon of Los Angeles, appearing in many classic movies, and my favorite place in the whole city. The views here are simply unbeatable, whether you visit during the day or at night, as you can see basically all of LA from here, including the Hollywood sign. Surrounding the observatory itself there is also a sprawling park with plenty of trails and green space if you want to get some walking in. Just be prepared for a crowd and make sure to bring your best camera!
