Why Costa Rica Should Be Your Next Vacation Spot
Chances are if you’re even a lowkey fan of tropical getaways, you know at least a couple of things about Costa Rica. The gorgeous beaches and majestic mountains are probably what comes to mind first. But there is a lot more to Costa Rica than meets the eye, and today I want to explore a couple of its hidden gems with you.

First off, I would recommend looking for something unconventional when you’re considering where to book your stay. For example, you could spend a few nights at a bed & breakfast in the beautiful foothills of the country instead of a hotel in San Jose where you’ll probably fly in. Once you’re there, you can find activities to suit anyone, like taking a tour of a coffee or cocoa bean farm or experiencing some delicious local food. Depending on where you choose to visit Costa Rica, you might want to head straight to the beach. For those of you who want to shake it up or just don’t want to spend your whole trip on the beach, there are also some really great opportunities.
Poas Volcano National Park
The highlight of my vacation to Costa Rica definitely had to be everything having to do with volcanoes. There are several volcanoes around this relatively small country, some of them active, which you can explore up close or appreciate from afar. Poas Volcano is not far from San Jose, and if the conditions are right when you visit you may be able to see into the crater. A little further north, Arenal Volcano is surrounded by a beautiful national park as well as countless hot springs, which I highly recommend if you’re looking for something relaxing to do. There are also zip lines, hanging bridges, and river rafting in the area around Arenal for the thrill-seekers out there. Costa Rica is truly a gorgeous place with incredible people, and if you decide to make this the destination of your next getaway it will be full of food, fun, and good memories!
