Chicago: Travel Tips for Your Visit

Chicago, Chi-town, and The Windy City are just some of the names for this metropolis in the midwest. The third-largest city in the US certainly holds plenty of excitement for everyone, no matter what you enjoy. If you’re planning to head out here sometime soon for business or pleasure, follow along to make sure you take full advantage of everything that Chicago has to offer.

You can find a great way to get your bearings and learn a little bit about the city on a riverboat sightseeing tour, which will take you right through the heart of downtown. Or you can just enjoy the sights with some food and drink along the Chicago Riverwalk, which provides some great places to just soak it all in. Of course, you can’t visit this city without getting a Chicago-style dog or some deep-dish pizza, so why not enjoy it with a view?

Thrill seekers should check out The Ledge at the top of the Willis (Sears) Tower, where you can step onto a panel of glass over a 1000ft above downtown and look straight down. This is not for the faint of heart.

Be sure to take a walk through Grant Park, a massive green space along Lake Michigan which is also home to The Bean, the famous sculpture that is bound to show up on your Instagram. Along Grant Park you will also find the Chicago Art Institute, one of the premier art museums in the country.

Once you’ve soaked up the views from the lakefront, take the “L” up to Wrigley Field and catch a Cubs game, something you can’t miss if you’re in town during the season. The second-oldest stadium in the MLB is sure to wow you with its ivy-covered walls and wooden scoreboard.

With its easy to navigate metro system and midwestern charm, Chi-town is a great destination city-lovers and vacationers alike!
