On the one year anniversary of NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s tragic death in a helicopter crash, celebrities and fans are taking to social media to express their remembrance of Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Celebrities including Ice Cube and Jimmy Fallon took to Twitter and Instagram to reflect on the impact that Bryant had on their lives and the lives of all those he encountered.

The crash occurred last year in Calabasas, California, roughly 30 miles outside of Los Angeles. Bryant, 41, and Gianna, 13, were among nine people killed while on the way to his daughter’s youth basketball tournament at his sports academy in Thousand Oaks, Calif.. Bryant was a very supportive father, and his daughters were the most important part of his life.

Bryant is widely known as one of the NBA’s all time greatest players. He spent all of his 20 year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, helping to lead the team to five NBA championship titles. Bryant was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2008 and he earned All-Star honors 18 times throughout his career. Bryant led the NBA in scoring twice and is no. 4 on the league’s all-time regular season scoring list and all-time post season scoring list. This is just a small fraction of the impact that Bryant had on the sport.

Not only did Bryant made a major impact on men’s and women’s basketball, but he made an impact on the entire world of sports, and every athlete he came in contact with throughout his life. His contagious smile and positive attitude left a mark on the world that will never be forgotten. The Mamba mentality will continue to inspire and motivate many generations of athletes to come and Bryant’s legacy will continue to light up the world of sports for many years to come.
