Simone Rocha invites you on a journey of ‘Harnessing a feeling’ that depicts a various mix of fragile and masculine elements in her Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The entire collection presents dreamy, sentimental yet edgy looks.

While her previous collections have strong storytelling elements like a folktale and literature in AW22, her motherhood in SS22, this collection is more about different complex feelings: difficult emotions such as fragility, anger, and sensitivity as well as fierceness like power and strength that heals the earth.

These raw emotions are fully translated into the collection. Inspired by nature, the exquisite details embody echinacea, chamomile, daisies, and daisy in chains in an enchanting and romantic way. Embroidered tulles with echinacea and chamomile blossom have a romantic vibe. Also, bold sequined daisy patterns in silver, and green give sparkling accents. The romantic looks display the iconic details of Simone Rocha with floral and tulle creations.

However, Rocha adds more masculine elements and playful harness straps to the romantic looks. The delicate feminine elements feature in an array of oversized men’s bomber jackets and shirts. Moreover, the robust harness straps and zipping details make the outfit strong and edgy with a contrasting effect. Indeed, the collection displays dynamic, unusual romantic looks with a modern contrast.

Excitingly, Rocha presents menswear for the first time as a unified collection. Male models carry out jackets, shirts, trousers, dresses, and tulle skirts, which is softened by Rocha‘s romantic touch. The outfits are strong and vulnerable at the same time. All menswear represents beautiful masculinity.

At the end of the collection, a few pieces have a couture vibe with beautifully meticulous lacy details on the dress and face veil. A giant sheer veil with tiered tulle covers both men and women from head to chest. Rocha interprets the veil as vulnerability as well as a ceremonial design. Under the concept of complex emotions, each look collectively delivers a feeling of protection, healing, and an urgent sense of wanting to go forward.
