Teddy von Ranson is an American designer based in New York City. Originally from Canada, this designer has brought life into their designs. Moving forward, I will be discussing the Ocean Meets Sky Spring/Summer Collection. Mellow in colors like the ocean, these pieces speak the emotion the designer was experiencing throughout quarantine. Ranson shares his experience and the emotional weight this collection holds to them. Inspired by his walks on the beach, Ranson presents an everyday laid back vibe with these pattern choices.

The color palette blends white, gray, black, blue, brown, and beige together. However, one of the outfits makes its own debut by representing itself as a bright pink suit. What I admire most from this collection are the linear patterns and use of hats. I believe hats are an important accessory to an outfit, and the hats provide the laid back feature for me here. The birk sandals and boots are a lovely addition as well and provide that nightlife for these outfits. It is a spring and summer collection, so these shoes are appropriate.

The models in the collection are shown to be mid-walking or contemplating; this might be symbolic of how the designer themself felt when they took their strolls on the beach. In addition, some of the male models are shown to have a bag that is brilliant to the look as a whole. It provides the busy business-chic man and that is what Ranson strives for with this collection. Moreover, it shows how normal it is for men to carry purses/bags.

Let’s talk about the pink outfit. It is bold and dangerous. The model looks absolutely stunning as well! All the colors coming together with the pink showcase a refreshing look. The mellow patterns are the tide patterns whereas the pink resembles a horizon after having long walks on the beach. It seems like this collection is personal to Ranson and we are able to see his creative palette and feelings with all these designs.
