NAGNATA IS MORE THAN AN ACTIVEWEAR

Nagnata is a luxury fashion and lifestyle brand, but it is more than just that. Inspired by movement and mind practice, the philosophy of the brand is a sustainably minded design to make better choices for the planet.

Nagnata, the brand’s name originated from ‘nagnatA’ in Sanskrit that refers to “nakedness indicating one’s natural state”. The brand is intended for transparency, positive influence, and contribution to the community.

With conscious efforts in the fabric, natural fibers are mainly used for the collections. Instead of synthetic fibers that are commonly used on sportswear, GOTS-certified organic cotton was used in each piece.

For knitwear, Merino wool was used to make sustainable activewear. Merino wool is known as one of the most advanced natural fibers in the world. Thanks to its unique moisture and temperature regulating properties, there is less need for frequent washing and the garment has high durability and longevity. Moreover, the knits are engineered rather than cut-and-sew to avoid fabric offcuts in the manufacturing process.

In pursuit of slow fashion, the brand is against the concept of the seasonal drop, but it is defined as “Movements” with numbers followed like ‘Movement 001’. Each collection is an evolutionary series of the previous one, which is more climate positive, innovative, and complementary.

“We don’t care for trends, nor do we care for the perpetual desire for newness that drives rampant consumerism. Our collections are designed for a reason, not a season,” described on the page ‘caring for country’ on the official website of Nagnata. Also, the brand has a “no sale policy” to support the slow fashion movement that set it apart from the fast fashion brands.

While the brand focuses on sustainability, they didn’t miss the style and functionality either. The Movement 10, the latest collection features inverse color-blocked contour lines of each piece. Based on a tropical color, it ranges from vivid pink and green to cream and cacao. With an emphasis on versatility, the collection is a balance of studio and street, adding a retro mood.
