Giorgio Armani Neve Autumn/Winter 2022/23
Armani in the Alps
This winter, Giorgio Armani went on a trip to St. Moritz for the Neve Autumn/Winter 2022/23 show. Set in front of Olympia, the super-exclusive show created a special runway in the glorious Swiss Alps.
The physical location seemed like an ideal place for the brand to present a skiwear line. “Sankt Moritz is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and popular mountain destinations in Europe, but it has kept its authenticity, which makes it so special,” said Giorgio Armani.
Moreover, the Swiss town known for attracting ski slopes hosted the Winter Olympics twice in 1928 and 1948. He might, therefore, intend to bring the historical concept to the runway in a snowy square.
Also, special settings featured the runway. There were wooden seating, an exterior façade of mirrored panels, and light gold metal details. Above all things, the highlight was the spectacular view of St Moritz in the background which made the show more beautiful along with ski-chic looks.
Armani Neve: Skiwear Collection
Models carried out fabulous sporty looks such as eco fur coats, fluffy boots, and puffers, as well as beanies with the logo “Neve”, which stand for snow in Italian. Giorgio Armani Neve is the selection of clothing and accessories dedicated to moments in the mountains, with a focus on outerwear and sportswear while reflecting the style and elegance of the brand with a strong heritage imprint.
However, its style is applicable to both skiing and après ski as the designer said. Hence, the collection focused on the balance of performance and style. So, in short, it beautifully combined sport with elegance, nodding to the cool streetwear.
Meanwhile, the Armani Group organized the show in collaboration with the Swiss Tourist Board to minimize its environmental impact. The brand also has decided to support with a donation “MortAlive”, a Swiss organization. Throughout the project, they will work for the long-term protection of glaciers worldwide.
