Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers made her musical debut on the comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live”. Alongside guest host Dan Levy, Bridgers was the featured musical guest for February 6th’s episode. She performed “I Know The End” and “Kyoto” from her recent sophomore album “Punisher”. At the end of the performance of “I Know The End”, after the screaming featured in the song, she smashed her guitar on stage.

“I’ll find a new place to be from/A haunted house with a picket fence/To float around and ghost my friends/No, I’m not afraid to disappear,” sings Bridgers.

For “Kyoto” Bridgers and all her band members wore skeleton costumes. The skeleton costume has come to be an important symbol for the “Punisher” album. She wears it on the album cover and for the music video for “I Know The End”. For the performance of “I Know The End” Bridgers wore a different take on the classic skeleton costume. It was a black dress paired with a distinctive Gucci pearl necklace in the shape of a rib cage. The stage was bathed in red light, similar to the red light shown on Bridgers in the “Punisher” album cover.”

In the promo of the episode she wore her signature color black, in the form of a Gucci lace collared dress. It was paired with a simple black face mask. During the promo SNL cast member Aidy Bryant jokingly says she expects Bridgers’ songs to by hilarious. Bridgers responds,”They’re not.”

2020 was an eventful year for Bridgers because she was nominated for 4 Grammys. She was nominated for Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Alternative Music Album. Bridgers also began performing on late night talk shows. She recently performed “Kyoto” on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in December 2020. She also was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
