Affair SS19 at NYFW
On September 7th, Rufat Ismayil of AFFAIR showcased his Spring/Summer 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week at Industria Studios. The theme “Power of Fire from The Land of Fire” spiraled intricately in each piece that graced the catwalk. Ismayil wanted his audience to discover, experience and enjoy the Haute Couture creations made in the Land of Fire. Scroll down to see my favorites looks from AFFAIR SS19 collection.
Variety of luxurious fabrics were integrated into the collection. Materials used such as crepe chiffon, silk, stonewashed silk, semi-precious gemstones, and embellishments contributed to the modern maximalist feel embodied by AFFAIR. The label chose to use gold, black mixed, emerald and denim with accents of semi-precious gemstones in natural tones.

Each piece was stunning, full of daring cutouts, plunging necklines and sexy yet luxurious details Embellishments lined the waists of several gowns and statement bejeweled shoulder pads were a standout feature on select looks. The AFFAIR brand is inspired by women who are both sophisticated and powerful, yet very feminine and desirable; embodying a sense of confidence and attracting attention with their presence.

The brand takes its origins from “The Land of Fire”, Azerbaijan, and it was brought to the world as a result of the inspiration and vision of the talented designer and garment maker, Rufat Ismayilov. He decided to move to Istanbul to pursue the launch of his own label. The brand is inspired by its home in Istanbul, a cosmopolitan city of contrasts the at expresses an amazing and unique mix of inspirations on the crossroads and between East and West.
