Virgil Abloh Launches Radio Show on Apple Music
Virgil Abloh must secretly be a superhuman because this man does so much. Recently, he was named the head of Louis Vuitton’s menswear, he manages his own clothing brand Off-White, he’s a DJ, an Ikea collaborator, an artist, and now he is launching an Apple Music Beats 1 radio show tomorrow.
On Monday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. PST, Televised Radio (name of the show) will be recorded in the Louis Vuitton atelier in Paris. Abloh must be the best multi-tasker to host a radio show from the building of one of his jobs. A culmination of his talents mashed together in one room.
“Music has an amazing ability to bring people together, and I couldn’t think of a better format to catalog all the multidisciplinary work I do under one umbrella,” Abloh says. “I’m using the two hours every so often to discuss various design projects and the rationale around them . . . in an effort to highlight my friends that make up my creative world. Apple’s design legacy and consideration of fostering art and design made it a perfect partnership.”
The radio show will be like an “audio mood board” mixed with new music alongside old music and guests invited to discuss art, design, fashion, and music. The radio show sounds like an amazing addition to the legacy of Virgil Abloh and hearing his insights as a creator will be profound.

Larry Jackson, head of Apple Music’s content says, “As fashion shifts its point of view, embracing the influence of hip-hop culture, we felt that the time was right for Virgil to present a larger story through an exclusive Beats 1 show on Apple Music, which offers a glimpse into his design studio and the musical references driving the debut of his new collection next week, plus his other prolific work,” he began. “In my opinion, there’s no better contemporary designer and creator to partner with.”
Be sure to tune in to his show Monday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. PST. Abloh’s first Louis Vuitton show is set for three days later and surely it will leak into the radio show.
