Hennessy Partners with National Brotherhood of Cyclists to Promote Diversity in Sports in the Name of Cyclist Marshall “Major” Taylor

There is big news for all of us who want to see more diversity in the sports world. Hennessy (yes, the cognac) has decided to partner with the National Brotherhood of Cyclists. The collaboration is happening because they want to organize a series of tribute bike rides to honor groundbreaking track cyclist Marshall “Major” Taylor. Marshall was the first African American to achieve the level of world champion. On December 1, 2018, the rides will take place in cities across the country with a mission of promoting diversity in cycling, a sport in need of widened representation.
To further honor Taylor’s interest in fostering equal access to education, Hennessy and NBC will also award one deserving person a $25,000 scholarship toward higher education. A gorgeous, limited-edition bicycle from Affinity Cycles and apparel line will be for sale as part of the collaboration, with a percentage of the proceeds going to the NBC.
